-‘Recent Developments in Quantitative Economics’ 주제로 세션별 진행-

본교 경제학과 BK21 교육연구단과 지암남덕우경제연구원은 1월 15일(목)부터 16일(금)까지 양일간, 게페르트 남덕우경제관 514호와 815호에서 ‘Recent Developments in Quantitative Economics’라는 주제로 국제 컨퍼런스를 개최했다. 이번 컨퍼런스는 International Economics, Econometrics, Macroeconomics로 세 개의 세션으로 구성되어 진행하였으며, 각 분야의 최신 연구 성과와 이론적 · 실증적 쟁점을 중심으로 심도 있는 논의가 이루어졌다. 

 

1월 15일(목)에 진행된 ‘International Economics’ 세션에서는 Changhua Yu(Peking University) 교수의 「Optimal Capital Controls and Trade Policy」를 시작으로, Leo Lam(Academia Sinica) 박사의 「Technology, Geopolitics, and Trade」, Hidehiko Matsumoto(Keio University) 교수의 「From Prudence to Excess: Measuring the Coordination Failure in Reserve Accumulation」, Sihan Chen(Hong Kong Baptist University) 교수의 「Monetary Policy, Exchange Rates and Global Production Networks」 발표가 이어졌다. 또한 곽준희(경제대학) 교수는 「Macroprudential Policy under Diagnostic Expectations」를 주제로 강연을 진행하며 세션을 마무리했다.

Econometrics 세션에서는 Ying-Ying Lee(University of California, Irvine) 교수의 「Lee Bounds with a Continuous Treatment in Sample Selection」발표와 이성원(경제대학) 교수의 「Sensitivity Analysis in Regression Discontinuity Designs」 발표가 진행되었다. 이어진 세션에서는 Sinjeong Kim(Pennsylvania State University)교수의 「Strategic Decision of Network Intensity: Evidence from the U.S. Firm-to-Firm R&D Collaboration」와 Sorawoot Srisuma(National University of Singapore) 교수의 「K-means Clustering of CCPs for Estimating Dynamic Discrete Choice Models with Unobserved Heterogeneity」 발표가 이어지며 계량경제학 분야의 최신 연구 성과가 공유되었다.

Macroeconomics 세션에서는 Toshi Mukoyama(Georgetown University) 교수의 「Propagation of Export Shocks: The Great Recession in Japan」 발표를 시작으로, James Morley(Sydney University) 교수의 「How Important Is Global r-star for Open Economies?」, Makoto Nirei(University of Tokyo) 교수의 「The Origins and Propagation of Animal Spirits Shocks」가 이어지며 거시경제학의 주요 이슈에 대한 논의가 이루어졌다. 오후 세션에서는 Lichen Zhang(University of Hong Kong) 교수의 「Educational Competition, Mental Health, and the Allocation of Human Capital: A Macroeconomic Analysis」, Xincheng Qiu(Peking University) 교수의 「Sorting in Firm-to-Firm Production Networks」, Choongryul Yang(Federal Reserve Board) 박사의 「Attention-Dependent Monetary Transmission to Household Beliefs」 발표가 이어지며 심도 있는 토론이 진행되었다.
