2025 BK-지암 한국경제 빅데이터 연구센터 컨퍼런스 개최

지암남덕우경제연구원과 BK21 교육혁신사업단이 공동 주최한 「2025 한국경제 빅데이터 연구 컨퍼런스」가 2025년 12월 19일(금) 게페르트남덕우경제관 514호에서 개최됐다. 

이번 컨퍼런스는 ‘Session 1: Big Data & Spatial Economics’와 ‘Session 2: Center Initiatives & Research’의 두 개 세션으로 구성돼, 한국경제를 둘러싼 다양한 빅데이터 기반 연구 성과와 향후 연구 방향을 공유하는 자리로 마련됐다.

Session 1에서는 한국경제 빅데이터 연구센터 부원장인 Costas Arkolakis 교수(Yale University), 이선경 교수(University of Michigan), 김철환 박사(Yale University)가 연사로 참여했다. 각 발표자는 각각 ‘Immigration, Innovation, and Spatial Economic Development: Theory and Evidence from the Age of Mass Migration’, ‘Debt, Drought, and Mobility: How Bankruptcy Institutions Shape Adjustment to Economic Shocks’, ‘The Spatial Consequences of Industrial Environmental Regulation’을 주제로 발표하며, 이주·혁신·환경 규제 등을 주제로 빅데이터 연구 성과를 소개했다.

이어 한국경제 빅데이터 연구센터장인 박정수 경제대학장의 환영사를 시작으로 Session 2가 진행됐다. Session 2에서는 한국경제 빅데이터 연구센터 부원장 양현주 교수가 ‘GranData: Introduction and Applications’를 주제로 센터의 주요 연구 인프라와 활용 사례를 소개했으며, Spencer Kwon 교수(Brown University)는 ‘Risk-Seeking Motives and Speculative Investment’, 곽준희 교수는 ‘Resolving the Fertility Puzzle: Where to Live, Work, and Educate Children’, 우재민 박사(Brown University)는 ‘The Effects of Housing Lottery Wins on Fertility and Economic Outcomes’를 주제로 각각 발표를 진행했다.

이번 컨퍼런스는 한국경제 빅데이터 연구센터가 개소한 이후 처음으로 개최된 학술 행사로, 국내외 연구자들이 한자리에 모여 빅데이터 기반 한국경제 연구의 현재와 미래를 조망했다는 점에서 큰 의미를 갖는다.
