서강대학교 경제대학에 오신 것을 환영합니다.
경제대학은 1960년 서강대학교 개교와 함께 경제학과로 출발하여 1990년 단과대학으로 격상된 후 지금까지 이어오고 있습니다. 1968년에는 일반대학원 경제학과를 설립하였고 1991년에는 경제 전문 인력을 양성하는 경제대학원(구 경제정책대학원)을 설립하여 운영하고 있습니다. 현재 경제대학에는 1,000명, 일반대학원 경제학과에는 100명, 경제대학원에는 300명이 넘는 학생들이 학업에 정진하고 있습니다.
'서강학파'로 불리는 경제대학 교수진은 현대 경제학에 근거한 실용적 연구와 선구적 교육으로 한국경제의 발전과 인재 양성에 기여해 온 점을 널리 인정받고 있습니다. 탁월한 연구 역량을 바탕으로 한국의 주요 경제 현안과 구조적 문제들을 분석하고 해결 방안을 제시하는 등 사회적 역할을 다하고 있습니다. 경제대학 동문들은 금융기관, 기업, 정부 법조계, 대학, 연구 기관 등 다양한 분야에서 활동하며 '신서강학파'라는 이름으로 맹활약하고 있습니다.

Welcome to the College of Economics at Sogang University.
The School of Economics began as the Department of Economics with the opening of Sogang University in 1960, and has continued its legacy since being elevated to a college (school) in 1990. In 1968, the Graduate School’s Department of Economics was established, followed by the establishment of the Graduate School of Economics (formerly the Graduate School of Economic Policy) in 1991 to cultivate professional economic talent. Currently, more than 1,000 students in the School of Economics, 100 students in the Graduate School's Department of Economics, and over 300 students in the Graduate School of Economics are dedicated to their academic pursuits.
The faculty of the School of Economics, widely known as the "Sogang School (Sogang-hakpa)," is recognized for contributing to the development of the Korean economy and the nurturing of talent through practical research and pioneering education based on modern economics. Grounded in their outstanding research capabilities, they fulfill their social responsibility by analyzing South Korea's major economic issues and structural problems and proposing solutions.
Alumni of the School of Economics are actively engaged across various sectors, including financial institutions, corporations, government, the legal profession, academia, and research institutes, making a significant impact under the name of the "New Sogang School." Rather than resting on its past achievements, the School of Economics will continue to strive to evolve into an educational and research institution that meets the changing demands of the times. We are confident that, with the continuous interest and affection of our alumni and current students, the School of Economics will transform into a cradle for the talent required by the new society.
