거시 및 국제경제 연구센터 소개
2007년 발생한 글로벌 금융위기는 (1) 거시경제에 발생한 불황이 금융시장을 통해 금융위기로 확장되고, (2) 한 국가에서 시작된 경제위기가 국가 간 거래와 경제적 통합을 통해 전 세계적 불황으로 파급될 수 있음을 보여주었다는 점에서, 거시경제학의 세 분야인 국제거시, 국내거시, 금융을 아우르는 연구 활동의 중요성을 시사한다.
이전까지 개별적으로 여겨졌던 연구 분야들에 대한 통합적인 접근이 필요한 시점에, 본 연구센터는 국제경제, 거시경제, 금융 전반에 대한 이해를 높이고자 하는 통합적인 연구활동을 수행하고 있다. 특히 현재 수행 중인 연구들이 장기적으로 한국 경제의 경기변동과 성장에 관한 논의에 기여하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.
이를 위해 본 연구센터는 (1) 통계학적·계량경제학적 접근을 통한 거시경제, 국제경제, 금융 연구와 (2) 이론적 접근을 통한 거시경제 관련 논의를 통합적으로 진행하고 있다. 또한 정기적인 세미나와 워크숍 개최를 통해 대내외 연구 교류를 활성화하고 있으며, 센터 내외 연구원 간 공동연구도 적극적으로 추진하고 있다.

Introduction to the Macroeconomics and International Economics Research Center
The 2007 Global Financial Crisis demonstrated the importance of integrated research across three fields of macroeconomics: (1) how a macroeconomic downturn extended into a financial crisis via financial markets, and (2) how an economic crisis originating in Korea propagated to a global recession through international transactions and economic integration.
At a time when an integrated approach to previously separate research areas is crucial, this leading group conducts comprehensive research to enhance understanding of international, macroeconomic, and financial issues. The current research aims to contribute to long-term discussions on Korea's business cycles and economic growth.
To achieve this, the group integrates (1) empirical and econometric approaches to macroeconomics, international economics, and finance, and (2) theoretical approaches to macroeconomic discussions. Regular seminars and workshops are held to promote internal and external research exchange, and joint research among researchers within and outside the center is actively encouraged.
