빅데이터 연구센터 소개
서강대 빅데이터 연구센터는 다양한 경제자료의 수집, 가공, 분석을 통한 실증기반의 경제학 연구를 수행하기 위해 설립되었다. 특히 2014년 교육기관 최초로 통계청 마이크로데이터 이용센터를 유치했으며, 이를 통해 통계청에서 사전 심사를 거친 연구자들이 자료를 이용할 수 있도록 보안 설비와 인력 등을 제공하고 있다.
빅데이터 연구센터에서는 인구주택총조사, 광업제조업조사, 경제총조사와 같은 다양한 수준의 마이크로데이터 제공에 협력하고 있으며 이를 통해 기업동학, 시장규제, 경제성장 등 한국경제 전반에 대한 연구 발전에 기여하고 있다. 또한 2015년부터 마이크로데이터 기반 한국경제 연구 컨퍼런스를 공동주최함으로써 마이크로데이터 이용의 활성화를 위해 노력하고 있다.
향후 통계센터의 인프라 확장 및 통계청과의 긴밀한 협조를 통한 마이크로데이터 제공 활성화를 통해 한국경제에 대한 이해 및 정책 도출에 기여할 것을 목표로 하고 있다.

Introduction to the Big Data Research Center
The Sogang University Big Data Research Center was established to conduct evidence-based economic research through the collection, processing, and analysis of diverse economic data. Notably, in 2014, it became the first educational institution to host a Microdata Access Center in collaboration with Statistics Korea, providing secure facilities and staff to enable pre-approved researchers to access data following a prior review process by Statistics Korea.
The Big Data Research Center collaborates in providing various levels of microdata, including the Population and Housing Census, Mining and Manufacturing Survey, and Economic Census.
